4 DAYS TO BWINDI AND LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK

Day 01: Kampala – Bwindi
Our safari guide will meet and greet at your hotel in Kampala at 07.00 brief you about your safari, then precede to south-west of Uganda. This drive will take you through one of the beautiful sceneries of the Western side of Uganda which is known as the Switzerland of Uganda. And we go through the coffee and banana plantations and this end will expose you to plenty of fresh fruits and vegetable markets, and indigenous Ankole cattle with their incredible long curving horns grazing a long the road. Then you ascend into the Kigezi highlands with terraced farming and mountain scenery to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Your fast impression of the forest will be its almost audible silence but gradually; the whole ecosystem of million of living organisms is watching and waiting for you.
Dinner and overnight at Kitandara camp, Buhoma homestead, Engagi Lodge or Buhoma community Rest camp..

Day 02: Mountain Gorilla trekking
Early morning cup of coffee and we get ready with our packed lunch, cameras, water, rain jackets, long pair of trouser and jungle boots, then you will assemble for briefing from the rangers about gorilla tracking the great adventure and experience! The time taken to encounter these peaceful primates is unpredictable for it may take 4 to 10 hours so a reasonable degree of fitness is required. You sit in the forest among the gorillas listening to them grumble at each other and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male, the silverback. It’s amazing to think that there are only 650 or so of these creatures left in the world! If you still energy you may decide to take a veilage to the local communities for cultural performances.

Day 03: Lake Mburo and afternoon boat trip
After an early breakfast, you proceed to Lake Mburo National Park situated in rolling hills and open grassy valleys. This lovely landscape is complemented by Lake Mburo and four smaller lakes, beautiful and tranquil surroundings. The afternoon boat ride or game drive. Here you may come across herds of Zebra, Cape buffalo, Topi, Eland are easy to approach. Along with the game drive, many visitors also enjoy a boat trip on Lake Mburo and self-guided nature trails. Bird watchers will enjoy more than 250 species of birds found in Lake Mburo including papyrus Gonoleks, Brown-faced Lapwing, Caruthers’s Cisticolas, the extraordinary White winged warbler and Bare-faced Go-away bird.
Dinner and overnight at Mantana Tented Camp or Rwonyo camp.

Day 04: Morning game drive and depart for Kampala
After morning breakfast, we go for the game drive giving you an opportunity to view zebra, buffalo, eland, Oribi, and Topi, and then drive to Kampala with a stopover at the equator for photography and craft shopping
