Mountain Gorilla trekking in Uganda
Bwindi Impenetrable gorilla forest: It is situated in a small pocket in the Virunga mountain range, located in south west Uganda on the border of The Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda. Gorilla groups are: - Mubare Group, the Habinyanja Group and the Rushegura Group. For up to five years each, these groups have undergone an extremely delicate process that has gradually made them used to the presence of humans, and allowed a few privileged visitors to interact with them briefly in the wild. Uganda wildlife safaris
Uganda has a variety of wildlife game in the several National Parks found in the country. Among the top destinations for game viewing include the Queen Elizabeth National park and Murchison Falls National Park. The wildlife to be seen in Uganda is sensational. The eco-friendly tourist industry and on-going conservation projects have ensured constantly increasing animal populations. Ornithologists come from around the world to view the more than 3000 species of birds.
There is potential to view animals including lions relaxing and elephants ambling and giant forest hog snuffing. Any visitor to Queen Elizabeth National Park cannot fail to be amazed by the enormous diversity in each kingdom of creation. It is simply a visual feast. Take a boat trip, a game drive, a woodland walk or simply enjoy any of the myriad stunning views.
The Murchison Falls National Park, with its variety of vegetation ranging from riparian forests and swamp lands to broad Savannah, provides the opportunity of seeing many of the animals found in Uganda.

 

Uganda primate safaris
Uganda offers a unique opportunity to track the endangered mountain gorillas in their spectacular volcanic montane setting, densely covered by tropical rainforests at Bwindi or Mgahinga national park. The population of the mountain gorilla is estimated to be around 700 in the whole world with a half of these residing in the Ugandan national parks of Mgahinga and Bwindi. Apart from the mountain gorillas, the country offer great opportunities to track our closest primate relatives-the chimpanzees, in their forest habitat at Kibale, Budongo, Kasyoha-Kitomi and Kyambura River gorge. Other primate species include vervet monkeys, blue monkeys, De-Brazza monkeys, Red Tailed monkeys, L'Hoest Monkeys, Grey Cheeked mangabeys, Black and White Colobus monkeys, Red Colobus monkeys. Nocturnal Primate Species in Uganda include Bushbabies or galagos as well as pottos .A visit to the Ngamba Island chimpanzee sanctuary where orphaned chimpanzees have been habituated is simply magical and interesting.

 Gorilla Tracking in Rwanda
Rwanda is the most convenient country for those who wish to add a gorilla trek to a safari in Kenya or Tanzania Trekking is in the Parc National des Volcans the home to the world’s largest number of endangered mountain gorillas numbering over 300, with 4 families habituated to human visitors. The park also supports a number of other localized mammal,   bird and plant species.
This 13.000 hectare national park protects the Rwanda sector of the Virunga Mountains, a range of six extinct and three active volcanoes which straddle the border with Uganda and the DRC.
Gorilla trekking permit in Rwanda costs USD 500 per person per day for foreign visitors. The fees include the park entrance as well. These can be accessed through tour operators who can organize your gorilla trek to Rwanda. There are 30 gorilla permits issued everyday so it’s important for you to get purchase your permit a few months before the gorilla safari.
