The fact that the North West part of Rwanda are cover with magnificent volcanoes which are a home to the remaining mountain gorillas immortalized by the late Dian Fossy “Gorillas in the mist” which describes a story a bout a remarkable woman together with the life she spent with the gorillas. The mountainous north of Rwanda opens the country to its fertile hills with banana groves, terraced plantations and the ever green tea gardens.
Chimpanzees in Rwanda are fed on different leaves, fruits insects, small mammals and seeds of different plants species. It is in Nyungwe forest where more than 80 species of mammals can be seen with about 13 primates and chimpanzee trekking is the major attraction followed by birding since there are about 300 bird species and 200 orchids.
Golden Monkey trekking: The golden monkeys live only in the Virunga Conseravtion Area. They have been well habituated and there are 2 troups.The Kabatwa troop is located not so far from the Park headquarters and the Musanga troop lives near the Karisimbi and has a much longer walking distance. Another experience with excellent photo opportunities!
City tour to Kigali: Kigali is Rwanda’s capital lying on a mountain ridge and it’s a fascinating place to visit. A visit to Kigali may cover the genocide memorial providing a wonderful experience and this tour is highly recommended to any visitor who goes to Kigali.
