Queen Elizabeth National Park
From open savannah to rainforest, from dense papyrus swamps and brooding crater lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward, it is little wonder that Queen Elizabeth National Park boasts one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any game reserve in the world.
Almost 100 mammal species and a remarkable 612 bird species makes this superb safari territory, with elephant, a profusion of hippos, the elusive giant forest hog and handsome Uganda Kob all regularly sighted around the tourist village on the Mweya Peninsula - which also boasts a marvelous waterfront setting in the shadow of the Rwenzori Mountains.
Elsewhere, the remote Ishasha Sector is famed for its tree-climbing lions, the Kyambura Gorge harbours habituated chimps, the Maramagambo Forest is home to an alluring selection of forest monkeys and birds, and flocks of flamingo are resident on the crater lakes.

The park covers 1978 Km2.

-nature walks to maramagambo forests notable for its primates, bat caves (with a resident bat-hungry python).
- the park is a home of the ’big four’ so enjoy game drives in search of Lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, waterbuck and many more.
-Prolific birdlife of about 612 species recoded in this park.
-Have a magical launch cruise and see hippos, crocodiles and a prolific birdlife along the shores of the Kazinga channel.
-go chimpanzee tracking in the Kyambura gorge and also enjoy its scenery.
-Visit the Ishasha sector famous for its tree climbing lions.

Accommodation is available for all kinds of travelers that is; if you want to have upgrade hotels/lodges. We recommend Mweya safari lodge and Jacana Safari Lodge.
Medium accommodation at Hippo hill Camp and Kingfisher Safari lodge.
Mweya Hostel offers budget accommodation.
Climate.
The low altitude and its location directly on the equator mean that the temperatures can be warm, rising from a mean minimum of 18oc to a mean maximum of 28oc. The park receives up to 1250mm of rain mostly during March-May and September-November.
