Semuliki National Park.
Semuliki National Park is one of Africa’s most biodiversity forests and is particularly noted for its varied bird population. This largely forested Park represents the eastern most limit of the great Ituri Forest of the Congo basin and contains numerous species associated with central rather than eastern Africa.
What you may not miss out!!!
-Sempaya Hot springs, dominated by boiling geyser (103oc) which spurts up to 2m high from white, iced cake-like base of precipitated mineral.
- Birdlife of about 441 species recoded in this park and 216 of these are forest species.
-336 tree species recorded.
-Is a home to 53 mammals of which 27 are large mammals.
Where to Stay?
The Park provides a campsite with basic cottages 2.5Km from sempaya and meals can be prepared to order. Cooking facilities are available with utensils available for hire. Upgrade accommodation can be found at the nearby towns of Fortportal and Bundibugyo.
Climate.
Semuliki’s temperatures rise to 30oc doused by annual 1250mm of rain, mostly between March-May and September- December.
When to Visit?
The park can be visited anytime of the year.
