3 DAYS CHIMPANZEE SAFARI TO KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK
Kibale forest national park hosts a population of more Chimpanzees, of which one 80-strong community has been habituated to tourist visits. The incredibly diverse forest is home to over 13 species of primates and 335 bird species recorded including the endemic Prirogrine’s ground thrush, with ancient trees up to 55 meters in height, is a wonderful place to experience the extraordinary diversity of life in a tropical rainforest.
Day 1: Arrive Entebbe and depart for Kibale forest national park
Meet and greet at Entebbe International Airport by your safari guide from Go See Africa safaris who will warmly welcome you and brief you about your Safari, and drive to the western part of Uganda . This drive will take you through one of the beautiful country side of Uganda and will expose you to plenty of markets with fresh fruits and vegetable, banana and coffee plantations, and indigenous cattle grazing along the road. Pass in Fort Portal down which lies in the shadow of the enchanted Mountains of the Moon. Have a stopover for lunch and proceed to Primates Lodge or Rwenzori view Guest House for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk
Early morning breakfast and report to kanyanchu Tourist Centre where the chimpanzee tracking begins from. Set out in the forest in search for man’s closest animal brothers the endangered chimpanzee! The chances of viewing the chimps are over 90% but it’s not a guarantee and this can take 4-6 hours. Other primates in the forest that you will encounter are the threatened Red-colobus monkey, the rare L’Hoest’s monkeys, the Red tailed monkeys, Blue monkey, Grey Cheeked mangabeys, velvet and many others not leaving out Butterflies. Came back for lunch and in the afternoon you visit the Bigodi swamp eco-tourism site is amazing, as we encounter rare and beautiful flora and fauna.
Dinner and overnight at Primates Lodge or Rwenzori view Guest House.
Day 3: Kibale to Kampala
Take breakfast and drive to Kampala arriving late in the afternoon for your flight back home.
